Lee Opera Theatre To Existing Musical Revue

Lee University Opera Theatre will current its tumble Musical Revue, comprising many scenes from a wide variety of musicals, on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. in the Squires Recital Hall.

The first fifty percent of the software will rejoice American composer Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday with his total musical composition “Trouble in Tahiti.” 1st done in 1952, “Trouble in Tahiti” is a a single-act opera centered on the strained connection of a married couple.

The second 50 % of the application will attribute parts from many musicals, which includes “A Refrain Line,” “Cinderella,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “Little Ladies.”

Undergraduate and graduate pupils, under the artistic path of Affiliate Professor of Voice James Frost, comprise Opera Theatre. Dr. ChoEun Lee, assistant professor of collaborative piano, has served as a vocal coach and will play piano alongside Rachel Appleton during the application.

Opera Theatre started in the spring of 1998 as a workshop and has developed into a generation organization carrying out a musical revue in the slide semester, a fully-staged opera from each standard and significantly less conventional repertoire in February, and an opera scenes method in the spring semester.

The general performance is totally free, non-ticketed, and open up to the community.
